Creatures of Habitat - Days of Action 2009

The organizing partners who initiated Creatures of Habitat and volunteered their

Approximately 700 Grade Six students in School District 63 (Saanich Peninsula), 60 Grade 11, 12 student volunteers and 50 community volunteers participated.

This event took place in classrooms and green spaces in Sidney, North Saanich, Central Saanich and Saanich Municipalities with a final gathering at Mary Winspear Centre, Sidney, BC.

learning about solutions and building the skills to uncover how the wider world works.

November 2008 to January 2009
Students compete to design Saanich Peninsula’s Environmental Superhero.

January to March 2009
Community School Interviews in the classroom featuring speakers actively pursuing solutions to climate change and community health.

Earth Day - April 22 2009
Full day festival of nature restoration projects with hands-on learning activities and theatre.
