Creatures of Habitat 2010

The 40th Anniversary of Earth Day is fast approaching. This year we will again be delivering a whole suite of activities to the Grade Six students in School District 63 (Saanich Peninsula), with the help of volunteers and other partners.

This year, rather than holding one event at a central location for all ~500 students, we will be taking Creatures of Habitat to the schools. We will visit each middle school and spent a day with their Gr. 6 students, presenting our EnviroJeopardy game and interactive displays, and participating in environmental restoration activities at or near their school. Restoration activities will include invasive species removal, mulching trees, and garbage pick-up.

Let kids be heroes today by caring for their local environment.

Days of Action 2009

An education-rich incentive where students engaged in stream bed restoration, beach clean-up, ivy-pulling and tree-planting in green spaces around the Saanich Peninsula. Students explored the challenges to wellness, both personal and environmental. View the program and results here...
